Flying from Perth WA to Krakow PL - 3 days on a plain, 3 take off's and hopefully 3 landings:)and that is all with our little girl who will be 1 by than (we actually flying on her birthday:))
I can't wait as I haven't seen my family for over 2 years and can't wait for them to meet my daughter for the first time but ...I worry that the whole “plane experience” will make my trip miserable:( That's why I have already started preparing myself to this big trip by doing research. But the advice from a mum like you - who has travelled so widely is just..... priceless. Thanks Beth.... and I can't wait for more “bloging” on the subject!!!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02736734735097034337noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7086309522129845177.post-49359851011237736702010-04-22T21:53:48.044-07:002010-04-22T21:53:48.044-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02736734735097034337noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7086309522129845177.post-17507609867020365452010-04-16T13:25:50.226-07:002010-04-16T13:25:50.226-07:00LOVE this! These are the things I learned: no matter how many times you fly, you will still be sweaty by the time you actually take off. =)

Some of our saviors have been puppets. We always bring a backpack of toys (new and revisited ones). Puppet shows are a huge time waster. And the compassionate people in front of, behind and next to you may join in.

All routine goes out the window. Snacks, meals and more snacks are always readily available. We try to fly outside of a mealtime (because that's just a hassle), but snacks are a must. We also bring an extra sippie of milk in case of delays.

We're planning a trip to Ireland and I fear how that will go. So, your post was very timely and awesome!

Thanks!Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15839777829434102768noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7086309522129845177.post-13995021150122813932010-04-16T06:52:23.296-07:002010-04-16T06:52:23.296-07:00Thanks for sharing this blog with other Stapleton ...Thanks for sharing this blog with other Stapleton moms. My husband and I are flying to DC with our (will be) 15 mo old son in June.
I'm just starting to do research on other people's experiences so that I can be prepared (whatever that means with a toddler).

I'm just hoping that he is walking by that time so that during our layover we can check out the airport.

I'm actually torn about boarding early or trying to be the last on the plane. I'm worried that the longer time on the plane would make him more fussy.

What types of activity ideas have worked the best for you? I've heard about an activity center that fits over the tray.Sam's Minions (aka parents- Angie and Brian)https://www.blogger.com/profile/05162666819768864469noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7086309522129845177.post-34423924529395809492010-04-07T12:20:34.753-07:002010-04-07T12:20:34.753-07:00I laughted with tears reading this. Your tips are spectacular, with one personal preference- I still like to board when they call last call for boarding- the less time in the plane with the toddler, the better. That aside, this is all very timely as we are planning to embark on a plan to Mexico with a now 21 month old baby next week!Andrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10892417434836256544noreply@blogger.com
